Something happens to us when we see pictures of our families. There is a sense of pride that settles within our chest as we show people our stories. It takes us back in time as we relive the moment that the photo was captured. Suddenly, we can recall details that were seemingly forgotten until now. It's as if our mind has found a long lost highlight reel.
It also serves as a fresh reminder that time moves too quickly. Photographs leave us longing for summer when it's cold. The innocence of a newborn when were deep in the trenches of the teenage years.
But it's also a reminder that we all are creating a legacy. A history and share commonalities for the generations to come after us. These are memories and photographs that we will hold dear and pass down. These are visual representations of mom moments, people, places, details and things the love or have loved.
One day in the distant future we will be expressing to our own grandchildren how meaningful these photos are to us. We will be telling them stories of when their own parents were little. We will share what it was like to be them growing up.
