It amazes many first time moms that the joy of having a child, the protective and loving feelings you have toward them, can begin fairly early in pregnancy. For some mom's these feelings begin as soon as they find out. For other moms, feelings take time to develop. Maybe it's when they first hear their babies heartbeat, or feel them kick for the first time. Regardless, most moms want to document their time during pregnancy. Maternity sessions are a beautiful reminder of how amazing pregnancy can be.
In order to have the best maternity photos, you should book your session when your belly is full of shape but not so far along that you look ready to give birth any day!
We recommend scheduling your maternity photo session in your 7th or 8th month depending on how you're showing. First pregnancies tend to take longer than second or third pregnancies. If you’re counting by weeks, this timeframe ends up around the 30 week mark. If you want to use your maternity photos for custom baby shower invitations, try booking around the 28-week mark. That way you have enough time to design, order and send out invitations.
We don't recommend waiting until after the 8th month to take maternity photos. By this point, most moms are feeling pretty uncomfortable. There is also a risk of baby coming early and you missing your maternity session all together!
